1. Allow: Some Students to have Special Access
Use this tool to give select students special quiz accommodations.
- Select Quizzes from the course navbar.
- Click on the quiz name.
- Click to expand the Availability Dates & Conditions section.
- Click Manage Special Access.
- Select Allow selected users special access to this quiz.
- Click the Add Users to Special Access button.
- To change the dates, click the check boxes next to Has Due Date, Has Start Date, and/or Has End Date.
Note: When you add start and end dates, students can see the quiz, but they cannot take it outside that date range. When you add a due date, it serves as a reference only; students can still take the quiz after the due date.
- Click on the date field(s) to open a calendar and select a date.
- Click on the time field(s) to open a menu from which to select a time.
- To allow more time to take the quiz, select either:
- Recommended Time Limit: The student sees a countdown clock, but the time is not enforced.
- Enforced Time Limit: The student has a set amount of time to take the quiz.
Note: Depending upon your choice, you will be given different timing options.
- If you want these students to be able to take the quiz multiple times, select Override attempts allowed and click on the Attempts Allowed field to indicate the number of attempts.
- From the list, check the names of the students getting the accommodations.
Note: Students with an icon next to their name (hover text reads, "This multiplier is a course level accommodation") have been given an accommodation through the classlist. See Section 4 below for more details.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Save and Close button to save your changes.
2. Allow: Only Specific Students to See a Quiz
Use this option if you want only some students to see the quiz.
- Select Quizzes from the course navbar.
- Click on the quiz name.
- Click to expand the Availability Dates & Conditions section.
- Click Manage Special Access.
- Select Allow only users with special access to see this quiz.
- Click the Add Users to Special Access button.
- To change the dates, click the check boxes next to Has Due Date, Has Start Date, and/or Has End Date.

- Click on the date field(s) to open a calendar and select a date.
- Click on the time field(s) to open a menu from which to select a time.
- Recommended Time Limit: The student sees a countdown clock, but the time is not enforced.

3. Set: Release Conditions
With this tool, students must meet specific requirements before they can see a quiz.
- Select Quizzes from the course navbar.
- Click on the quiz name.
- Click to expand the Availability Dates & Conditions section.

Click the Add Release Condition button and choose Create New.
- Use the Condition Type drop down menu to select the restriction criteria.
- The Conditions Details drop down menu will update based upon what was selected for the Condition Type. Use this menu to determine specifics.
- Based on what Conditions you selected, additional information may be required. Once all information has been entered, click the Create button.
- Once more than one release condition has been attached, a new menu that allows you to set how Conditions must be met will become active. This menu only appears if you have more than one condition attached. If so, select one of the options:
- All conditions must be met: if a student must meet every Condition before taking this quiz.
- Any condition must be met: if a student must meet only one of the Conditions.
- To delete a Condition, click the "x".
- Click the Save button to remain in this tab (or Save and Close to save your changes and exit the quiz).
4. Set: DRC Students Accommodations
Set individual students requested extended time on all quizzes.
With this feature, you can also always allow right click for students who need to use assistive technologies to complete your quizzes. This feature lives in the Classlist tool; please see our help page on Accessing Quiz Accommodations from the classlist..
