Instructor: Grading Options

1. Regrade: An Individual Student's Quiz

It is possible to manually grade a quiz, even if that quiz has already been automatically graded by D2L.

  1. Click the caret to open the quiz's Action menu. down-facing triangle
  2. Select Grade from the menu. actions menu
  3. Click on the attempt # beneath the student's name. attempt number
  4. Options:
    • You can change the Attempt Grade without modifying the score for an individual question. Attempt Grade field
    • You can change the score on a question. The attempt grade will update. score field
  5. Click the Save button to remain in the quiz (or Save and Close to save your changes and exit the quiz).

2. Allow: A Particular Student have Multiple Quiz Attempts

You can let individual students take a quiz multiple times.

  1. Select the name of the quiz to edit.
  2. Select the Availability Dates & Conditions tab to expand it.Availability dates and conditions
  3. Select the Manage Special Access button. Manage Special Access
  4. Select Allow selected users special access to this quiz. Allow selected users special access to this quiz option
  5. Click the Add Users to Special Access button.Add users to special access button
  6. Select Override attempts allowed and select the number of Attempts.attempts allowed settings
  7. Select the name of the student for which you would like to add access. Click the Apply button.
  8. Select the Save button to remain in the quiz (or Save and Close to save your changes and exit the quiz).

3. Grade: With Anonymous Marking

You can remove students' identifying information while you manually grade.

  1. Click the caret to open the quiz's Action menu. down-facing triangle
  2. Select Grade from the menu. actions menu
  3. Select the Questions tab. questions tab
  4. Check Anonymous Marking. Red arrow pointing to the Anonymous Marking option (selected).
  5. Click on the name of the question you wish to grade. question list
  6. Enter a score. score field
  7. Click Save and Continue to save this grade and move to the next student. save and continue button
  8. When you are finished, click the Go Back to Questions button.go back to questions button

4. Exempt: Students from a Quiz

Exempting students from a quiz means that the quiz will not count toward the final grade.

  1. Select Quizzes from the course navbar.
  2. Click the caret to open the Actions menu.quiz drop down menu

     

  3. Select Manage Exemptions.actions menu

     

  4. Select the student(s) you wish to exempt.check box

     

  5. Click the Exempt button.exempt button

     

  6. Click the X to exit this window.close icon

5. Export: Quiz Results to a Spreadsheet

It is possible to export quiz data to a spreadsheet.

  1. Click the caret to open the Actions menu. down-facing triangle
  2. Select Grade from the menu. actions menu
  3. Click either Export to CSV or Export to Excel.export buttons
