Instructor: Send Email

1. Communicate: By Email with All Students in Course

Email all participants in your Classlist at one time.

To email all at once:

  1. Click on the Classlist tab on your course navbar.classlist tool on navigation bar

     

  2. Click on the Email Classlist button.image of email classlist button

     

  3. Click on Send Email button at the bottom of the list of participants. The total users included in the list is visible.send email button image

     

  4. A Compose New Message window will open to enter Subject and Body of email with Attachments option.Compose new message and send image

     

  5. Once email is complete, click the Send button at top of the page.

2. Communicate: By Email with Sections or Groups

Email all participants in a specific Group or Section at one time.

To email Group or Section:

  1. Click on the Classlist tab on your course navbar.classlist tool on navigation bar

     

  2. Click on the Email Classlist button.image of email classlist button

     

  3. Use the View By drop-down menu to select the Group or Section to email and click Apply.image of view by Group or Section to Email

     

  4. Select the Group or Section, under the drop-down menu of Groups or Sections and click Apply.Image of filter to email specific group or section

     

  5. Click on Send Email button at the bottom of the list of participants. The total users included in the list is visible.Send Email image

  7. Once email is complete, click the Send button at top of the page.

3. Communicate: By Email with Selected Students

Email only selected participants from the Classlist.

To email selected:

  1. Click on the Classlist tab on your course navbar.classlist tool on navigation bar

     

  2. Search for the individual within your list of participants and select the individual.
  3. Click the Email icon located at the top (or bottom) of the list of participants.image of email specific students

     

  4. A Compose New Message window will open to enter Subject and Body of email with Attachments option.compose a new message image

     

  5. Once email is complete, click the Send button at top of the page.

4. Access: Sent Email

Access the emails you've sent through D2L.

To access your sent mail folder:

  1. Click on the Message alerts icon in the main D2L navbar.

  2. Click the Email link.

  3. Click Sent Mail
